Acupuncture
Originated in China more than 3,000 years ago, acupuncture is a unique technique for treating illness in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is a safe and effective natural treatment that is used to heal existing illness, prevent recurrence of illness and improve overall health.
How Acupuncture Works
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is believed that the human body is a whole system that connects internal organs and external tissues through the network of meridians (energy channels). A vital energy Qi flows in meridians throughout the body. If the flow of Qi in certain meridians is blocked, the body in the part where the blocked meridians pass will not work properly.
Chinese acupuncture engages the Qi by inserting needles at specific points on the meridians where the Qi is both concentrated and accessible, the goal being to restore the proper flow of Qi. Needling certain points have been proven to do all kinds of amazing things in the body such as reduce inflammation, repair damaged nerve tissue and balance hormones.
