Vertigo relief acupuncture has been used in China to treat dizziness for thousands of years. From ancient times to present, Chinese acupuncturists have attached great importance to the treatment of vertigo. Since Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that vertigo is not an isolated symptom, it is viewed as a manifestation of the imbalance between Yin and Yang of the body.

The cause of vertigo — TCM Theory

Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that main cause of vertigo is the pathological factor of ‘wind‘ blowing in the body, and human body is shaken like a tree by the wind resulting in occurrence of dizziness.

The root cause of ‘wind’ is the imbalance of Yin and Yang in the body. Yin resembles water and Yang resembles fire. When they are balanced, the body’s functions remain neutral. When Yang outweighs Yin , excess fire will appear in the body. Fire in nature will generate heat that rise into the sky. Excess fire in the body will also lead the heat into our orbital/ocular region. This pheromone is the direct cause that makes people dizzy.

Another cause of dizziness is insufficient Qi(energy) in our system. Insufficient Qi means that there won’t be a healthy supply to promote blood flow, and the poor flow of Qi and blood on the head can cause dizziness.

Treating vertigo with Acupuncture

Regardless of the root cause or depletion, Chinese medicine has a lot to offer in treating vertigo and accompanied symptoms. The best known treatment is vertigo relief acupuncture, which involves the insertion of tiny needles into your body to stimulate healing. Scalp acupuncture also works wonder for resolving dizziness. Like the name implies, scalp acupuncture entails needling acupuncture points on your scalp to affect brain function, and can be used for neurological conditions.

Our clinical vertigo relief acupuncture

Vertigo relief acupuncture is an effective acupuncture method used by our acupuncturist for many years for relieve dizziness. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that there are five main organs in the human body, which are the liver, heart, spleen, lung, and kidney. Every organ is an individual energy system and needs to maintain the balance of Yin and Yang for optimal performance. According to the experience of our acupuncturist, vertigo is mainly caused by the imbalance of Yin and Yang in the liver and kidney energy systems.

In the Five Elements Theory (Wuxing)  of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the kidney is the water organ and the liver is the wood organ. Water can nourish trees, so the kidney is the mother of liver. When the kidney Yin is weak, the woods of liver does not get nourishment it needs resulting in a drought to occur. This drought is the main cause of dizziness and many more conditions that occurs in our body, vertigo relief acupuncture has the ability to restore balance of the liver in a precise and targeted manner.

When the acupuncturist in our clinic use vertigo relief acupuncture to relieve dizziness, he also pays attention to replenishing the patient’s Qi(energy). Qi has the effect of promoting the smooth flow of blood throughout the body and improving blood circulation in the head. Enough Qi in the body can improve the effect of relieving dizziness, as well as optimizing the body’s overall performance.

Our vertigo relief acupuncture not only relieves the symptoms of dizziness, but also resolves the root cause of this condition. Many patients reported that after treatment, not only the dizziness was been relieved, the high blood pressure has also been reduced,  and the headaches was also relieved. This is because the symptoms caused by wind will disappear after the wind in the body is calmed down.
